

Mary Perez Strachan, aged 82, passed away peacefully in Orlando, Florida, on June 22, 2023. Born on December 22, 1940, in Fabens, Texas, to Dolores and Macaria Perez of Bakersfield, CA. Mary led a life brimming with love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Mary Perez Strachan will forever be remembered as a beacon of love, kindness, and generosity. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide those fortunate enough to have known her. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who were touched by her grace.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack Dalton Strachan.
She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Robert and DeAnna Strachan, Jackie and Greg Bates, Randall and Catherine Strachan, Richard and Holly Strachan, and Rodger Strachan, who were fortunate to have such a loving and devoted mother. Mary's legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Zach Bates, Kindsey Bates, Brandon Strachan, Morgan Strachan, Travis Edwards, Dalton Strachan, William Strachan, Jacob Strachan, Scott Strachan, and Mason Lenoux, who carry forward her spirit of love and compassion.
Mary actively participated in the Rio Valle Woman's Club, tirelessly raising funds for charities and scholarships in the Lower Valley. Through the woman’s club Mary raised money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and scholarships for local high school graduates attending college. She was also a member at Clint Methodist Church, where she could share her love of singing with the choir and other church members.
A service celebrating Mary's extraordinary life will be held on August 4, 2023, at 10 am at Martin Funeral Home on George Dieter. Following the service, the burial ceremony will be at 1:30 pm at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, where Mary will be laid to rest with husband, Jack Strachan.
In honor of Mary's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association. This reflects her compassion for those affected by this devastating disease and her commitment to supporting vital research and care for individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer's.
