

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Marianne Farrier Owen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30th surrounded by her family. Now in the arms of the Lord, she is joyfully reunited with her husband and so many loved ones. Marianne was born on March 2, 1928 in Cooper, Texas to John and Hazel Farrier. As a young woman, she and her brother John Farrier moved with their mother to El Paso from Pittsburgh, Texas. Marianne attended El Paso High School and Texas College of Mines (now UTEP) where she met the love of her life Frank Owen III. They were married for 52 years until his death in 1999. She and Frank were married at Trinity First United Methodist church where they were very actively involved in church activities including starting the literacy program both teaching English classes for many years. She was also a well loved and dedicated kindergarten teacher at Zach White Elementary school. Marianne was always very active in the community serving as President of the Zach White PTA, President of El Paso Bar Auxiliary, Delta Delta Sorority and Daughters of the American Revolution just to name a few. An avid reader and a student of history, she was frequently invited to give book reviews to various groups throughout the community. She loved participating in all aspects of her familys lives, never missing a birthday or an occasion to celebrate with her children and grandchildren. Always a lady, she conducted herself with style and grace and will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She is survived by her six children and their families: Cathy (Charles) Woodul and children Alison (Toby) and Sharon: Ginger (James) Roberts and children Dustin (Kobi) and Connor (Katherine); Frank Owen IV and children Pam and Matt (Georgia); Bill (Julie) Owen and children Anthony (Erin), Christian (Liz), Lucy, Carolyn and Robbie; Robin (Randy) Grambling and children Holt (Caela). Preston (Brittany), Ryan and Chase; Lorrie (Ron) Ballinger and children Whitney (Ben), Caylor (Cody), Kylie (Eric), Corry and Tawny. She is also survived by 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Susana, Carmen and Maria de Rosario for the loving and devoted care given to their mother. We also want to thank Dr. Dwayne Aboud and CIMA Hospice for their compassionate care. Serving as pallbears are grandsons Dustin and Connor Roberts, Matt Owen, Christian and Robbie Owen, Holt, Preston, Ryan and Chase Grambling. A celebration of Mariannes’s life will be held on Monday, July 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ronald Thomson officiating. In Lieu of flowers, for those wishing to do so, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity First United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Services are entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West with internment at Memory Gardens of the Valley. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 5th from 5-7 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home West.
