Father, Your ways are not our ways and Your thoughts are not our thoughts.   “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope!”  You have provided Your Word, in the form of Your son, that we might have Hope.  Your Word gives us hope, like the light of olkien's Eärendil - Christ, Our Morning Star!  He waits for us, when night is its darkest and we cannot see.  Let Your word now be with Marianne's family in the darkness of this  unspeakable pain… pain,  which You, Lord God, know only too well.  Let Your love shine, like a diamond against the blackest cloth!

Marianne's parents know You, they entrusted their child to You when she was born, dedicated her to You even like Samuel, brought her up in fear and admonition, to know Your way and walk in it.  But it is an academic exercise, Lord, for while we are willing like Abraham, we still  expect You to snatch our Isaac from the altar & provide another sacrifice in her stead!  That has not happened.  We are left with countless and unanswered whys.  Still, we must hope, we must believe… even as we rend our clothes and beat our breasts and wish to wake from this nightmare.  We must hope, Lord.  Grant Bob & Susan that hope.

Remind them of Your promises that You have always kept. You have promised to never leave us or forsake us.  You have promised that we shall live again.  You promised that Marianne even this day will be with You in heaven.  You have promised Life, everlasting. You have promised that Marianne is not gone, but born again, her joyous and sweet spirit lives in Your glory and presence… that she waits for them there.  You have promised that joy shall come in the morning.  Help them as they stumble blindly through the days ahead, as they trudge through the coming months.   Comfort them with memories of the time they had with Marianne on this earth.  And God, help them, heal them until they see, not dimly, but in person, that Morning Star, with their precious Marianne, proudly beside Him!  In Jesus, precious name and blood, we claim it, God. Amen

I was one of Marianne's professors at UTEP. She was a wonderful, talented, and bright student, with so much to offer. My deepest condolences.

It is comforting to know that soon and very soon we will see her again. God bless you.  Love

Marianne I still can't believe you are no longer with us. I am sad but knowing you have gone home to be with our Lord brings me happiness.
