

November 2, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio and is preceded in death by her Parents, Walter & Marjorie Haller and Husband, Roger A. Hamilton. Marilyn and Roger were married on September 20, 1969 in Cleveland, Ohio. Roger was an El Paso police officer killed in the line of duty on June 21, 1970.
Marilyn is survived by Bill and Lou Spears, Keith & Pam Rice and family, several cousins and many loving extended family and dear friends and neighbors.
Marilyn attended Kent State University in Ohio and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in
1978. Marilyn loved teaching and taught 5th and 6th graders within the EPISD for 27 years, most of which
were dedicated to Hart Elementary School - she touched many lives.
Marilyn was active in children’s activities as a Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent
at Nottingham Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. In El Paso, she was a Sunday School Teacher at Cielo
Vista Baptist Church and Scottsdale Baptist Church. Marilyn was also active in the musical programs at
Scottsdale.
Marilyn loved her extended church family and fondly recalled how they came to her side when she lost
Roger and how they called, visited, and prepared her meals during those dark days immediately after
Roger’s passing. A special thank you to Susan Wohleking, the ladies from The Joy Notes, and all who
gathered to ensure she was comfortable and cared for during her last days.
Visitation will be held on June 10, 2025 at Scottsdale Baptist Church, El Paso, Texas beginning at 11:00
a.m. Services will follow at 12:30 p.m. with the burial immediately thereafter at Fort Bliss National
Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Funeral services have been entrusted to Martin Funeral Home – East.
Memorial contributions may be made to Scottsdale Baptist Church or Baptist Mid Missions, Cleveland,Ohio.
