Marjorie Nell Dyer (Anderson), age 91, of El Paso, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 13, 2026. She was born in Georgetown, Texas, on January 30, 1934, and moved to El Paso as a young wife and mother, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Marjorie worked for many years at Furr’s grocery store, where she was well known for her dependability and strong work ethic. Yet the defining mark of her life was not found in her work, but in her love for Jesus Christ. She devoted much of her time to serving faithfully in her church and spent many years at Scotsdale Baptist Church, where she gave generously of her time and energy in service to others.
Marjorie also treasured friendship and fellowship. She formed close bonds with several women over the years, regularly hosting weekly gatherings where they played games, shared conversation, and enjoyed fellowship. She cherished traveling, reading, staying informed on current events, and she especially loved sharing photos and stories of her family—always grateful for the blessings God had given her.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Karen, Beverly, and Janice; her granddaughters, Shannon, Samantha, and Rebecca; her great-children Joelle, Katie, Roseclare, Damian, Kailei, Lili; and her sister, Georgia Mae Johns of Leander, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bayne, and her grandson, Travis.
Her family finds comfort in the truth of Scripture and the promises of her Savior: “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8)
A service celebrating Marjorie’s life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Scotsdale Baptist Church, 10015 Lockerbie Ave, El Paso officiated by Pastor Marco Sanchez. Fellowship with a light lunch will follow the service.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to those who have offered prayers, kindness, and support during this time.
