Mrs. Martha Anne Little Babenco

Martha Anne Babenco died on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the age of 80 years old. Martha was born August 18, 1929 to Van Allen Little and Anne Lee Roberts in College Station, TX. She was a resident of El Paso for 52 years. She graduated from A & M High School in 1946 and Texas State Women’s College in Denton in 1950. Mrs. Babenco received her masters from UTEP in 1972. In 1950 Martha married Answell Ray Morse Jr. (Ray) and lived in Corpus Christi till 1958 where she taught school. She moved to El Paso in 1958. She taught at Crosby Elementary till 1959, then she taught at Bliss Elementary School from 1959 – 1971. In 1971 she married Seymour Babenco (Sy). Then she taught at Zach White Elementary from 1974 – 1975; Lincoln Middle School from 1975 – 1976; UTEP English Dept. from 1979 – 1980 and at Wiggs from 1988 – 1991. She is preceded in death by her mother, Anne Lee Roberts (Little), her first husband, Answell Ray Morse (Ray), her daughter, Catherine Babenco Hartshorn, second husband, Seymour Babenco (Sy), her father, Van Allen Little and stepmother, Patricia Little. Martha is survived by her sons, Answell Ray Morse III (Tray), Van Tyson Morse (Ty) and wife Luanne, Lew Babenco and wife Susan and Joe Babenco, son-in-law William Hartshorn and wife Barbara, brother William Little (Bill), grandchildren Deanna Hartshorn Grimshaw and husband Cort, Robert Hartshorn, Mindy Nichole Morse, Jaclyn Amber Morse and great grandchildren Elisa Lee Grimshaw and Thomas James Grimshaw. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 1:30 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. Pallbearers will be William Hartshorn, Robert Hartshorn, Lew Babenco, Joe Babenco, Stuart Babenco and Marc Roth. Honorary Pallbearers will be Edward Babenco and Tray Morse. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan White Acres, Attn: Gary Dewey, 7304 Good Samaritan Ct., El Paso, TX 79912 or Hospice of El Paso, 1440 Miracle Way, El Paso, TX 79925. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, TX 79912.
