Martha Torres, age 76, of El Paso, TX, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021. Born on March 15, 1945, Martha was a proud graduate of Jefferson High School, class of 1963. After graduation, she excelled as a legal secretary before moving on to the Credit Bureau of El Paso, where she also worked as a secretary until ultimately retiring as a clerk for the Title I nurses at EPISD. Martha was a fun-loving, generous person who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was the leader of the Romo gang when it came to planning trips to see her beloved Dallas Cowboys, UTEP Miners, and Texas Longhorns. Martha had a huge heart and great sense of humor and she will be sorely missed.
Martha is preceded by her parents, Lucío & Rafaela Romo, and her brother, Victor G. Romo (Gloria). She is survived by her loving husband of almost 35 years, Encarnacion Torres; siblings, Elsa Romo Grillo (Joseph), David Romo (Sylvia), and Felipe J. Romo (Maria); nieces & nephews, Carlo Romo, Andre Romo, Eric Romo, Gilbert Romo, Melissa Bartee, and Alexis Romo; stepchildren, Rebecca Arnold, Lori Castañeda, and Marco Torres.
Visitation for Martha will be held Thursday, August 12 from 5:00 – 8:00pm at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 N Zaragoza Rd with Vigil beginning at 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 13 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Rd. Graveside service will be at 1:00pm on Friday, August 13, at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave.
