Mary Jane Herrera, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on March 23, 2026. Jane was the cherished daughter of Arturo and Virginia Anaya; and beloved wife of Fred Herrera (50 plus years); she was a devoted mother and deeply loved by her children: Freddy (Michelle), Emil (Gabby), Tury (Kristen), Nicki (Alton), and Tara (Tracy). Jane’s greatest joy was being a Nana to her 13 grandchildren. Jane loved her sister, lifelong shopping partner/coffee date, Andrea Keener and all her nieces and nephews.
Jane was a woman of great faith and loved the Lord with all her heart; she shared that faith and love with her family and friends. Jane was treasured by all her family, friends and children she took care of, coached or ministered to.
Jane loved singing, dancing, shopping, her puppies and spending time with her family. Her tender love, patience, and faith which she poured into her family will be truly missed. She was a true matriarch of the Herrera family and was a pillar of light, hope, and love with a sprinkle of humor. Mathew 5:14-16 says:
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Jane was filled with the true light of Jesus Christ, she was filled with warmth, love, and a light that would comfort and bring joy to every person she met. Many people were drawn to this light in Jane; her light will continue on and be a precious gift she imparted to each of her beloved family and friends.
