Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Palafox

Mary Elizabeth Palafox (Liz) passed into the loving arms of her heavenly Father on March 7, 2025 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband Emilio and daughter Roselve Palafox; three siblings: Charles Harrison, Terry Payne, Betty Castillo and survived by one sister, Estella Martinez and many nieces and nephews.

She and Emilio had five children: Roselve (deceased), Liz Snow (Dick), Emile Palafox, Ingrid Moreno & Marguerite Rodriguez (Manny).

Liz was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was the heart of her home and family, being involved in all of her children’s school actives, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was also very involved in Al-Anon and was the founder of Al-Anon Chapters throughout Mexico.

She carried the love of God everywhere she went and to every person she met. It was that heart that led her into a ministry of feeding the poor at the Juarez city dumps. A big part of her life has been serving and praying daily for people.

Her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren were the light of her life and she adored them and they too loved her because she was their fun-loving grandma.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

To know her was to love her!

A visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. A memorial service will occur Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cross of Grace Church, 4700 Leeds Ave., El Paso, Texas 79903. A graveside service will occur Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
