Mary Margarett Pugh

Interment with graveside services will be held in Odessa, TX on May 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 6801 E. Business 20, Odessa, TX 79762. There will be no memorial service in El Paso. Arrangements by Hillcrest Funeral Home of El Paso.

Mary Pugh was born to Jesse and Valera Hamilton in Strawn, Texas on May 28th, 1925. She graduated from Odessa High School at age 16. She married Earl E. Pugh, Jr. in 1944. Her first job was at Woolworth's followed by jobs with oil field companies in Odessa. During WWII she worked for ship services in New London, CT. She continued her service to our country in the 1960s while working for the Inspector General in Heidelberg, Germany; at the headquarters of the United States Army in Europe. In El Paso her first interview was with Architectural Products Company, a job where she stayed for approximately 40 years as she climbed the corporate ladder retiring as Chief Financial Officer.

She was active in many organizations including; Friends of the Cielo Vista Library, American Businesswomen’s Association, National Association of Women in Construction, and National Association of Credit Management where she served in various capacities, including treasurer and president.

Mary Margarett Pugh was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Hamilton; her mother, Valera Townzen Hamilton, and her sister, Frankie (Piggy) Hamilton, and special sister, JoAnne Boyd Hamilton.

Mary is survived by daughter Mary “Teeny” Kirschenbaum (Patsy Launspach) and son Jesse Pugh (Linda Pugh); brother Dr. Delmos “Dell” Hamilton (Norma Hamilton); grandson Jason Pugh (Nicole Pugh), granddaughter Stacey Pugh (John Bennewitz); great-granddaughter Georgia Kate Pugh, great-grandson William Hutcheson Pugh; nephews Dell Hamilton Jr. (Julie), Boyd Hamilton (Teresa), and niece Holly Hoover (John).

Pallbearers will be Mary Kirschenbaum, Jesse Pugh, Jason Pugh, Boyd Hamilton, John Bennewitz, John Hoover, and Christopher Hoover. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dell Hamilton Jr.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Friends of the Cielo Vista Library (3025 McRae, El Paso, TX 79925) or the charity of your choice. Family address for cards is 7913 Edgemere, El Paso, Texas 79925.
