November 28, 1949 – January 9, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving wife and beautiful mother, Mary Anne. She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Ida Tidwell, her daughter Sharon Maxwell, her great-grandson Dawson Weeks, her brothers Calvin and Mickie Tidwell, and her sister Patricia Ambrose.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Clair Southwick, her daughter Genevieve Bryant (Danny), her son Wade Maxwell Jr. and her grandchildren, Maegan Weeks (Nate), Garrett Meyer, great-granddaughter, Hazel Weeks, her brother Michael Tidwell (Anna); sisters-in-law Patsy Tidwell, Lynn Tidwell, Rita Tidwell, brother-in-law John Ambrose, several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Mary was born in Albuquerque, NM where her dad was stationed during his military career. Her parents later retired in El Paso, TX. Mary Anne was second oldest of five children. Mary Anne and her siblings all graduated from Andress High School. Mary Anne lived a full life and enjoyed her family, friends, cooking, sewing, crocheting and quilting.
After a long career working for the government, she retired from the El Paso Intelligence Center. Mary Anne was a member of the Tobin Park UMC and prior to her illness, she spent several days a month volunteering at the church.
The last couple years of her life brought difficulty and heartache, however, Mary Anne has received her ultimate healing from our Lord. Please pray for comfort and peace to all who knew her and loved her.
Visitation will be 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with funeral service at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer Street, El Paso, Texas 79904. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas.
