Matt poured himself into making music since he was 15. His passion was entertaining others, whether through rap, or making others smile and laugh with his unique, clever sense of humor. Matt could often be caught writing lyrics, scribbling in notebooks or on anything. He produced all his own music and helped others produce theirs. He was famous for having a makeshift studio wherever he was, even if it was in a closet at a friend’s house. He was always upbeat and on beat and he was best known for his creativity and comedy. He never took life too seriously and was always wide-eyed, full of youth, trying hard not to laugh.
Matthew had love and compassion for friends who were in need. Going above and beyond, to help anyone get back on their feet. He also had a soft spot for the homeless, always trying to help them in any way he could. Matt did not discriminate; he treated everyone like they were one of his “Homies”. This was the genius of Matthew.
He was a child of God. He loved people and he loved hard. He confessed his faith through his music and through his actions. He was sensitive and yet he was every bit The Mad rapper Machine. We celebrate Matthew’s life and know that he is rejoicing with his Lord, with Our Lord. Let’s remember that he was called by name. Until we hear his contagious laugh again.
