Matt Pullen went to that big shooting range in the sky on May 21 after a long illness. Matthew David Pullen was born on August 4, 1952 at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico, the third of five siblings. Matt lived mostly in El Paso. He loved the Rolling Stones, playing guitars, building model airplanes, reading about military history, hunting, drinking lots of coffee, and firing pistols and rifles — he was an award-winning marksman. Matt had a good heart, warm smile, quick wit, and crack sense of humor. He endeared himself to all who knew him. Matt graduated from Eastwood High School, and served four years in the United States Air Force and received his honorable discharge with the rank of E4. He earned an Associate of Arts Degree from El Paso Community College, and later received an associate’s degree in Applied Science in Computer Information Systems — Computer Programming. He was a manager at Kirk’s Gun Shop for several years, and later worked in computer-related capacities for various businesses. Matt was preceded in death by parents Lt. Col. (Retired) Sydney and Louisa Pullen, and older brother Mike Pullen. He is survived by brothers Mark Pullen (Joy Goodsell) and Doug Pullen (Rosemary Flores); sister Lesley Pullen (Tomas Leyva); sister-in-law Millie Pullen; nephews Tom Pullen, Dan Pullen and Keith Pullen; and niece Sydney Pullen.
