El Paso – Maxine Cullipher Hoover age 92, on Thursday November 4 th , 2021, after a short hospitalization but a long and beautiful life, Maxine joined her Husband, Daughter, Parents, 9 Siblings and many other dear family members and friends that have gone before her on her Final Journey to Heaven. Maxine was born to John Edward Cullipher and Pearl Teresa Wood Cullipher Phipps on December 17 th , 1928, in Bayou Meto, Arkansas. Maxine was raised on a Farm, where hard work and long days were the norm and after High School moved to El Paso when she was just 17 years of age to enjoy the warm sunny weather of the "Sun City" per Doctors recommendation. On November 9th, 1946 Maxine and Mack Moses Hoover (a Navy and World War II Veteran) from Reydell Arkansas Married and began there Life together here in El Paso. Maxine worked at Southern Bell/A T & T in the Early Years of their Marriage and Mack worked nights with the Southern Pacific Railroad. Later on, once their Children, Charles Mack Hoover, Benny Dale Hoover and Monica Yvette Hoover (Ziegler) were born, she began a long Career with the El Paso Independent School District, where she provided Administrative Assistance to the Principals and Staff at Morehead School and Zach White Elementary. Maxine loved Camping, Fishing, Water and Snow Skiing with her children and grand children and loved watching and supported her sons Charles and Ben by attending their Football, Baseball and Golfing events.
When Maxine retired from the School District in 1985 she took on the full-time job of caring for her husband until he passed away in 1995. From 1995 until present Maxine had the pleasure of watching and being very involved with the success of her Children, Grandchildren and Great Grand Children and watching them grow into “Her Pride and Joy”.
She is preceeded in death by her Husband Moses Mack Hoover, Daughter Monica Yvette Hoover (Ziegler), Son In Law Tom Ziegler, Daughter in Law Connie Hoover, Granddaughter Wendy Hoover, 9 Siblings and her dear friend Ms. Hallie Till.
She is survived by her sons Charles Hoover and his wife Nancy Peters, her Son Ben Hoover, Grandsons Cory Hoover (Debra), Tyson Hoover (Jennifer), Brian Hoover (Laura) and Todd Ziegler (Jessica), Granddaughters, Paula Hoover, Kirsten Claridge (Cash), Megan Ziegler. Great Grandchildren, Tye Claridge, Shaylen Claridge, Julia Hoover, Diedra Ziegler, Grant Evan Hoover, Hunter Ziegler, Layla Ziegler, Brandi Taylor, Ryan Martin and Great Great Grandson Jaxson Taylor.
A Celebration of Life and Services will be held on Friday, November 19, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home West, 128 North Resler, followed by Maxine's Last Road Trip Down Mesa through her Neighborhood and past all of her favorite Restaurants and Shopping Places. Lastly, she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Memory Gardens of the Valley, where a Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers are Cory Hoover, Tyson Hoover, Brian Hoover, Todd Ziegler, Cash Claridge and Tye Claridge.

Maxine loved to Read and it would give her Great Pleasure to know that the Children of El Paso can Learn to appreciate “Holding a Book in their Hands” like she did to Enhance their Learning.
