Merced Q. Hernandez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, entered eternal rest at the age of 100. A lifelong resident of Anthony, New Mexico, Merced was deeply devoted to his family, his faith, and his community.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Maria Eusebia Hernandez, and his loving daughters, Yolanda Alicia Hernandez and Gloria Bertha Hernandez. He is proceeded in death by his daughter, Olga Leticia Arias.
Merced's memory will be cherished by his grandchildren: Yvette Griego (Ben); David Arias; Sandra Lozano (Chris); Esteban Arias (Yadira); Olissa Hernandez-Hill; Renee Griego (JT) and 14 great grandchildren. His legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on in each of them.
A visitation for Merced will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 324 Lincoln St, Anthony, NM 88021. A rosary will occur Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 324 Lincoln St, Anthony, NM 88021. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 324 Lincoln St, Anthony, NM 88021. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Anthony, New Mexico.
Merced will be remembered for his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
