Merry Anne Summerford

Merry Anne was always there for her family and friends with an open home and a warm heart. She was proud to have been able to travel to and with family, and said yes as often as she could to new adventures. Quick to smile and laugh her infectious laugh, she was known among her family and friends for her humor and of course her cooking (especially her desserts). Later in life, she cherished two dogs, Boo and Bella, whom she spoiled even more than the grandkids. Merry Anne volunteered for eight years for the El Paso Police Department, helping people who called and visited the Westside Regional Command Center and coordinating volunteers.

She is survived by her loyal companion George Guardado; by her brother George Bush (Sue); her brother in law Kent Summerford (Martha); her children, Mike Summerford, Leslie Summerford Wallis (Bob Krulish), Dan Summerford (Katie) and Julie Summerford Pearson (Eric); her grandchildren Amanda Summerford, Clayton Summerford, Trace Summerford, Rory Wallis (Julie), Rebecca Wallis, Ryan Wallis (Rachel), Jake Wallis, Clay Summerford, Samantha Summerford, Janey Tarwater, Jett Tarwater, Croft Tarwater, Patrick Pearson, and Maximo Pearson. Merry Anne was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Summerford and her granddaughter Merry Elliott Tarwater.

Merry Anne’s family will hold a private service in her memory. In lieu of flowers, Merry Anne asked that people give to the Merry Elliott Tarwater Fund in the El Paso Community Foundation, PO Box 272, El Paso, TX 79943/ epcf.org.
