Miguel Campos Sr.

We gather with heavy hearts but also with deep gratitude to honor and celebrate the life of Miguel (Mike) Campos, a devoted father, caring father-in-law, loyal friend, respected Korean War veteran, and a man whose life was marked by quiet strength, humility, integrity, and love.

Mike was many things to many people, but to those who loved him most, his greatest titles were Husband to the earlier departed Antonia, his brothers and sister, Dad and Grandpa. To his sons, Miguel Campos Jr. and Edward Campos, and to his daughter, Irma Campos Coleman, he gave them more than guidance; he gave them an example. To his grandchildren, Alejandro Caraveo, Christopher Caraveo, Miguel Campos III, his great grandchildren Caleb Caraveo, Mia Benevidez, and Alma and Isla Caraveo; he leaves a legacy of love, strength, and family pride. As a grandfather and great grandfather, Mike had a special way of passing on wisdom through simple moments, through his presence, his stories, his example, and the quiet love that made each child, grandchild and great grandchild feel connected to him. Through the way he lived, he taught that character matters, that promises should be kept, that hard work is honorable, and that people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

As a father-in-law, Mike welcomed others into his family with kindness, generosity, and acceptance. He understood that family is built not only by birth, but also by love, trust, and loyalty. Those who became part of his family were not treated as outsiders, but as family in every meaningful sense of the word.

Long before many of us knew him, Mike answered his country’s call and served in the United States military during the Korean War. He belonged to a generation that understood sacrifice, responsibility, and service before self. Like so many of his fellow veterans, he did not seek recognition. He served because he believed it was his duty.

We grieve because we loved him deeply. Grief is the price we pay for having been blessed by someone’s presence. Yet even in sorrow, we give thanks; for the years we shared with Mike, for the lessons he taught, for the memories that will continue to make us smile, and for a life that was truly well lived.

As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that while his voice may now be silent, his influence will never fade. It lives on in his sons, Miguel Campos Jr. and Edward Campos; his daughter, Irma Campos Coleman; his grandchildren, Alejandro Caraveo, Christopher Caraveo, and Miguel Campos III; his family; his friends; and everyone fortunate enough to have known him. The love he gave does not end today; it will continue in every family gathering, every story shared, every lesson remembered, and every act of kindness inspired by his example.

For those of us who believe, there is comfort in the promise that death is not the end, but a new beginning. We trust that Mike now rests in peace, reunited with those who have gone before him, and held in the loving presence of our Heavenly Father. We look forward with hope to the day when we will see him again.

May we honor Mike’s memory by living as he did, with courage, humility, compassion, integrity, and devotion to family. May we carry his example with us always, remembering him with gratitude rather than regret, with love rather than despair, and with smiles that accompany our tears.

Thank you, Mike, for your service to our nation, your devotion to your family, your steadfast friendship, and your life of honor. Rest in eternal peace. Your duty is complete. Your legacy endures forever.

Visitation will be held on July 28, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer St, El Paso, Texas 79904.

The Funeral Mass will be held on July 29, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2709 Alabama, El Paso, Texas 79930, at 10:00 am, followed by the Committal Service at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906, on July 29, 2026.
