

Miguel Duarte at 58 known as Mikey, Joker, of El Paso, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014. He was born in El Paso, Texas, on June 15, 1955, to Cenovio and the late Maria Gloria Duarte. He attended Jefferson High School. He was a true patriot. As a U.S. Army retiree he always had a story to tell about his time in Korea. He took pride in displaying the colors, POW/MIA and Army flags. He also worked for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years, retiring from the main El Paso Post Office. He loved his country, the Army, and his family. He served till the end. Miguel is survived by his wife, Graciela and six children, daughter Maria Magdalena Rangel and sons, Miguel Duarte Jr., Matthew Duarte, Cenobio Guillermo Duarte, Marcos Antonio Duarte, and Sergio Duarte. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a brother: Cruz Duarte and sister: Maria Guadalupe Velasquez. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 am at San Juan Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at 10:30 am at Ft Bliss National Cemetery.
