Mimi was born on September 12, 1928 in Lebanon, PA. As a young girl, she played piano and sang in the church choir where her father was a Sunday school teacher. She met the love of her life at age 14 and married “Beamy” when she was 18. Beamy and Mimi would’ve celebrated their 69th anniversary in May.
Mimi devoted her entire life to her family, but also had many outside interests including bowling, camping, square dancing and assisting with the Explorers Boy Scout troop. After their children were married and Beamy retired they sold their house in PA and via their Holiday Rambler trailer moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1972. While in Scottsdale, they purchased another larger trailer and became Snowbirds moving from Scottsdale, in the winter, to Yellowstone National Park in the summer where Mimi worked in a gift shop and Beamy worked at the local airport. In 1977 Mimi decided the 35 ft between them and the trailer was more than they could handle. They bought a home in El Paso where their daughter Carole was living, but shortly afterward Carole and husband Dave were transferred to Phoenix.
They joined the UPC family and met many wonderful people over the years. Mimi was very involved with activities at the church including volunteering for Wheels on Meals, Bingo at the nursing home, offertory, church coffees and many other things
Mimi also worked part time at the El Paso Convention Bureau and helped her daughter LuAnn with a legal book publishing company for 5 years.
In June of 2006 Mimi and Beamy’s son and daughter-in-law, Carey and Donna, moved to El Paso after Carey’s retirement and spent many wonderful times with them.
Mimi was always the picture of health until recent months losing some neurological abilities as well as macular degeneration. She passed away unexpectedly but peacefully. Beamy stated that Mimi will always be his little angel.
Mimi is survived by her husband Maynard “Beamy” Beamesderfer and their three children Carey (Donna), Carole Green ( Dave) and LuAnn Wieland along with 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Mimi touched the souls and hearts of so many people and will be missed by everyone. She was truly a beautiful woman inside and out.
