And notably, Morris F. Jolly’s life-long dedication, honor, trust and fulfillment to his country as a Lt. Colonel in the U.S Army. “Mo” as known by many, and always as “The Colonel” to his daughter, passed away in El Paso, Texas on July 2nd 2023.
Born in Waverly, Illinois, at the young age of 23, he enlisted in the U.S Army. After serving in both the Vietnam and Korean Wars, he devoted his life to his country, serving 30+ years in the U.S Army and retired as Lt. Colonel. Specializing in Army Air Defense and Ballistic Missile Defense Weapon System, he then continued to share his expertise with U.S Government Contractors for almost another decade.
I can remember… each day when coming home from work, I would ask: “What did you do today?” He would grin and would always say the same thing: “The same thing I did yesterday.” That Is All.
He was quiet, purposeful and truly loved what he did and achieved. Settling in El Paso, Texas with his lovely wife and my Mother, Virginia, he very much enjoyed visiting the VFW and American Legion on a regular basis with his military buddies. He’d say “It’s Always Good To Start The Week Off With Friends.”
An avid dog-lover, especially for Basset Hounds, “Winston” is fondly remembered as his “Cantankerous” Basset Hound. After being born in a small Illinois town, it is truly amazing that he was able to travel the world, marry the love of his life ad be blessed with so many wonderful friends. He’d always humbly say: “Live Just One Day At A Time” Dad, We come here today to say “GOODBYE”
Comforted, you have now been re-joined with Virginia.
TRUSTING IN GOD’S PROMISE OF ETERNAL LIFE
Wish you Love and Peace on now your Final Mission.
With Love, Honor, Respect And only… Fond Memories The Colonel’s Daughter
