Mrs. Mozel M. White passed on May 15, 2024 and the interment is at Fort Bliss National Veterans Cemetery, in El Paso, Texas. She was born July 07, 1943 in Holly Springs, Mississippi. She was preceded in her death by her parents, Johnny Dotson Mitchell and Bessie Mitchell-Williamsons and her husband, Lee White, her son, James Edward Jr., sister, Earlene Mitchell and brother, Hugh M. Mitchell who both lived in Milwaukee! We came to Milwaukee in the 50's! Mozel completed her education in Milwaukee, Wisconsin! Mozel, worked at Milwaukee County Hospital and participated in a march to the Capital in Washington, DC to advocate for a Union to be established. She was a long-time member of the Eastern Star at Harmony Chapter #3 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, assistant with the founders of the O.C. White Club, worked on campaigns for those who were running for office, worked as Chief Inspector and trainer during the election cycles! Also, she volunteered for the Salvation Army and many other organizations. Mozel loved life and lived it to the fullest! She loved to cook, travel, garden and raise plants, play Bingo and watch her favorite Soap Opera, "One Life to Live."
She leaves to mourn her siblings: John Mitchell of Olive Branch, Mississippi; Janette Mitchell-Herrera, Doris Mitchell-Johnson, Bernice Mitchell-Moreno, Lugene Mitchell, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Ralph L. Mitchell of Racine, Wisconsin; her nieces, Kathleen Mitchell-Ross, Pauline Mitchell, Doris Mitchell-Trice, in addition to a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends, especially our nephew, Alfonso Mitchell, whom she adopted. He helped take care of her and was always there for her! Her neighbors, the White family, was our "Ram in the Bush" as stated in the Bible. They took care of my sister when our family wasn't able! They had her spoiled. For instance, they cooked for her, made sure she shared all the Holidays with them and they did repairs to her home. They took her to the hospital when she was ill amongst many other things. Also, special thanks to caregivers: Janette Mitchell-Herrera and her best friend, Laverne McKinney.
Lastly, no matter what she was going through with, whether, good or bad times, she would say, "God is going to take care of it!" Again, she loved life and lived it to the fullest and she would give her last to help someone else. All you have to say was I need or don't need, she would still insist on buying or giving you something. My mother always told us that we must always take care of one another so that we can help others. This is why! We know she is still with us! Rest in Peace! Love conquers all!
From Janette Mitchell-Herrera on behalf of the Mitchell Family!
Graveside service for Mozel will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue, El Paso, Texas.
