Natalia M Hermosillo
May 1, 1932 – March 3, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Natalia Melendez Hermosillo, 85 years of age, announces her passing away on Saturday, March 3, 2018.
Natalia was a life-long resident of El Paso. She graduated from Bowie High School and attained the rank of Major in the ROTC program. She excelled in all academic endeavors. Natalia’s love of medicine led her to enroll at the Hotel Dieu School of Nursing. She worked in hospitals and doctors offices fro much of her life.
She enjoyed reading, music, cross-stitching and quilting. She often traveled to visit her children, grandchildren, and great grand children. Natalia loved and adored her children and sacrificed much of them. She also had a deep love for her catholic faith.
Natalia met her husband, Fernando, in high school. They were married for 58 years and enjoyed raising their family. For them it was always “Todo Para La Familia.”
Natalia is survived by her sons, Carlos (Rebecca) and Richard (Maria) and her daughters, Patricia (Charles) Hammond and Priscilla (Robert) Mattmann, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fernando, her parents, Rosalio and Francisca Melendez and her beloved daughter Natalie. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Humane Society of El Paso, and the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN).
