

It is with great sadness that the family of Nathan W. Jones, 24, announces his passing on Monday, December 5, 2016 at University Medical Center in El Paso, TX due to injuries he sustained as the result of a Nov. 29 accident. His parents, sisters and girlfriend were by his side.
As the family makes arrangements to fly Nate home to Michigan, visitation and funeral arrangements will be coordinated by Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Home, 310 E. Washington Rd., Freeland, MI.
Nate graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Turf Grass Management in 2013 and was the Head Groundskeeper for the El Paso Chihuahuas, the triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. He enjoyed baseball, golfing, Sunday dinners with his El Paso family, his John Deere work “toys,” mountain biking, “his babies” as he affectionately called his nieces and nephews, and being at his favorite place on earth, his family’s cottage on Lake Huron.
Nate will be forever remembered by his parents Doug and Denise Jones, his sisters Christy (Noel) Losee, Melissa (Adam) Laurie, Heather (Scott) Litle, his nieces and nephews, Aaron and Lauren Losee, Hayley and Hunter Laurie, and Makayla and Jordyn Litle, his grandmother Phyllis Ahlers, his girlfriend Yari Natal, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Amanda Jones, grandfather Henry “Hank” Ahlers, grandparents William “Bill” and Doris Jones, uncle Brian Ahlers, and numerous great-aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home West in El Paso, TX with a memorial service at 7:00 pm.
