

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our father, Nicanor Quiroz, on June 24, 2016 at the age of 99. He was born in Annayauh, Mexico on January 10, 1917 to Jose and Epifania Quiroz. He moved to Texas in his youth and served in the U.S. Amy during the World War II with Company B, 801st Tank Destroyer BTN. He saw combat in the European Theater, and was highly decorated for his service. After his discharge in 1946, he returned to Texas, finally settling in El Paso, where he worked as a Mechanic for the City of El Paso before retiring. He was a devoted and loving father, a helpful neighbor, a generous friend, and a Life-Long Dallas Cowboys Fan. He will be sorely missed by his 7 children, 12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. He is survived by his children Rosa (Rick), Jose (Lourdes), David (Irma), Alberto (Yolanda), Victor, Josie, and Frances (Arturo). His family wishes to extend their gratitude to the El Paso V.A. and the APC Home Services for assisting in his care during his final years. Visitation will be held on June 30, 2016 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on July 1, 2016 at Little Flower Church at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery ETA 1:30 p.m.
