Norma G Williamson

Born on February 9, 1947, in El Paso, Norma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She gave generously of herself and found great purpose in caring for those around her. She had a youthful spirit, a generous heart, and a true zest for life.

Norma was the backbone of her family, with a remarkable gift for making ordinary moments special. She was an artist who turned blank canvases into beautiful creations, a gardener whose seeds blossomed into abundant gardens, and a wonderful cook whose meals brought everyone together.

She especially loved creating Christmas magic. Each year, she transformed her home into a festive wonderland, filling it with warmth and holiday spirit. She even hosted surprise visits from Santa Claus, creating memories her family will treasure forever.

Norma was a courageous cancer survivor who faced adversity with strength and determination. Her Catholic faith was a constant source of comfort and guidance. As a longtime parishioner of St. Stephen Deacon & Martyr Church, she trusted in God and believed He was always with her.

With her wonderful sense of humor and independent spirit, Norma knew how to make people laugh. She embraced new experiences and enjoyed exploring the world, traveling to many places and creating memories along the way. She also enjoyed gardening, painting, reading, walking her dogs, playing golf, shopping, and spending time with loved ones.

Norma owned a daycare, providing children and grandchildren with a safe and nurturing environment. She later worked as a realtor before retiring. Yet her most meaningful role was caring for her family and being there for her husband.

Norma is survived by her husband, Kent D. Williamson; her children, Cynthia C. Rede, Lorraine M. Miner, Norma J. Miner, and Albert C. Miner (Sylvia Miner); her sisters, Isela T. Garcia and Yvonne Garcia (Richard Matthews); her grandchildren, Michelle Serrano (Jacob Serrano), Christopher Ochoa (Kristen Ochoa), Adam Ochoa (Brittany Ochoa), Victoria Hyder, Jaclyn Morris (Christopher Morris), Savannah Ochoa, and Katheryn Hyder, along with seven great grandchildren from her side of the family; and her 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren through her husband, Kent. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvador Garcia and Guadalupe Garcia, with whom she is now reunited in Heaven.

Norma believed strongly in putting family first. She faced life's challenges with courage and leaned on her faith during difficult times. In her final days, she peacefully shared that she was not afraid to die and looked forward to seeing her parents again. She told her family she would miss them, but would be waiting for them in Heaven.

Those words remain a source of comfort to everyone who knew and loved her. Norma leaves behind more than memories; she leaves traditions, laughter, wisdom, faith, and lessons that will continue through the generations.

She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always cherished. Her life was a gift to all who knew her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family.
