Ollie Mae Walker died on September 2, 2022 in El Paso. She was born in Gilbert, LA on July 13, 1930 to Allen and Fannie Mae Caston. She married M.L. Walker on December 9, 1947. He was an active duty soldier. Their first military assignment was in Cheyenne, WY. They had five children and served at many Army posts and overseas. After retiring in El Paso, they both became members at Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Marion V. Lee. They both remained members until death.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
M.L. Walker, her daughter, Cathy Rhodes and her son Lloyd Walker. She is survived by her loving
daughters, Doris, El Paso, TX and Sharon (George), Temple, TX, daughter-in-law Janet, Boerne, TX; and loving son Marvin, Killeen, TX. She is also survived by granddaughters Chanel, and Olivia; grandsons Alex, Jazston, and Francisco.
She is also survived by several adoring great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at. 11 am on September 9, 2022 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The eulogy will be performed by her son-in-law Pastor George E. Feagin of Bethel Independent Methodist Church in Temple, TX. The interment will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery on September 12, 2022 at 2:30 pm.
