Oscar is a graduate of El Paso Technical High School, class of 1968. In 1968, Oscar joined the United States Air Force, and proudly served his country.
Predeceased by his parents, Armando Chavarria, and Ramona Chavarria and great-niece Nia Pilar Ramos. He leaves a legacy of love, family unity and selflessness. Oscar is survived by his siblings: Irma Anaya (Javier), Armando Chavarria Jr., (Yvonne), Hector Chavarria (Martha), Delma Delgado, Dr. Arnaldo Chavarria (Helen), Elvira Garcia (Raul), Maria Cardoza (Juan), Sylvia Berumen (Sergio). He loved each one of his nieces and nephews: Michael Delgado, Armando Chavarria III, Ricky Chavarria, Iris Cardoza, Johnny Cardoza, Ivy Cardoza, Eddie Chavarria, Paul Chavarria, Keilah Marquez, Isaac Chavarria, and Alexandro Garcia. Survived by 10 great nieces and nephews, whom he adored.
Oscar’s generous spirit extended beyond his immediate family. He loved his aunts and uncles but most importantly he treasured his cousins. He always made sure to stay connected. He was a kind, generous, and an easy to love man who left behind beautiful memories that will be treasured always by those who loved him. Oscar’s presence will be profoundly missed.
Services to honor Oscar's life will be held on 05/06/2024, between 4PM – 8PM at the Hillcrest Funeral Home on 1060 N. Carolina, El Paso, TX. At 6PM a special ceremony will be held. Burial will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at a later date.
