

Paul Lazovick, age 95, of El Paso passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Fannie Lazovick, three sisters, Naomi Binder, Mona Aarons, his twin sister Beverly Kaplan, and his wife of 34 years, Lillian Lazovick. He is survived by his four children, Ellen Weingarten(Steven), Bonnie Kasner(Marc), Iva Hesse(Jim), Glen Lazovick(Debbie), 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
A source of pride for Paul was his service in the US Navy. During WW II he served as a Navy corpsman in the Pacific and was in the Battle of Iwo Jima.
Paul lived half of his life in New York and moved to El Paso in 1977. He often remarked that he arrived too late; he adored his adopted city. He was an advertising executive, an art enthusiast and an active member of the El Paso community. He helped to enhance and develop the downtown area through his participation in the Downtown Development Association. Paul was a man with diverse talents and interests which included painting, music, and a love of history. He was committed to volunteer involvement through his work with children and art, his time at The Bookmark and his participation on various committees.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 12 at 10:30 am at Temple Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Gateway Boulevard West. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The Bookmark, El Paso VA Health Care System, or the El Paso Alzheimer’s Care Association.
