Pedro was born on June 20,1960 in El Paso to Pedro Sr. and Refugio H. Madrid. He was a proud Jefferson Silver Fox having graduated in 1978.
Two years later, he married his wife of 41 years, Bertha Vasquez. They went on to open a store in San Elizario in 1991. They owned and operated Lila's Grocery Store for 22 years before closing its doors in 2013. He was also a handyman who was able to fix almost anything he'd be asked to; if he did not know he would figure it out.
Pedro was preceded in death by his mother, Refugio. He is survived by his wife; Bertha, daughter; Areyda, son; Elias, his father; Pedro Sr., brothers; Gerardo, Albert, and Pete O., and sister; Sylvia. He also had a large extended family who are too numerous to name, but whose faces were in his heart. He was a gracious friend to all.
Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses at the Hospitals of Providence East Campus for the care extended to Pedro.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Crestview Funeral Home, 1762 N. Zaragoza, with the Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. at Crestview Funeral Home. The Madrid family will be present to receive family and friends. There will be no burial following the Funeral Service.
