She was an elementary school teacher and taught in Tornillo, El Paso, Denton, and Dallas I.S.D. She also taught at Good Shepherd Catholic School in Garland, Texas.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Herbert and Dorothy Bartel. Survivors include her twin sister, Kathy Bartel Najera, former brother-in-law, Charles Najera, her niece, Lindsay Jean Najera (Chris), three great nieces, two great nephews, and numerous other family members and friends.
Peggy is remembered as a loving sister and aunt. She was a woman with a strong faith in God and will truly be missed.
A visitation for Peggy will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Martin Funeral Home West from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held the next day, Friday, November 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Matthew Catholic Church 400 W. Sunset Rd. El Paso, TX, 79922. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery 4900 McNutt Rd. Santa Teresa, NM, 88008.
