"Pete" Albert J. Reade

“Pete” Albert J Reade “The Colonel” passed away on July 18, 2024 at the age of 91. He is the last-born son of Josefina and George C Reade, born in El Paso, Texas on March 13,1933. He was a loyal and proud Bowie Bear class of 52. He joined the US Air Force in 1953 and served during the Korean War as a Ground Power and Equipment Repairman. Pete retired from civil service, Dept. of DOD Ft Bliss Texas as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic. He was a long time member of the Segura McDonald VFW Post 5615 and Davis-Seamon VFW Post 812. After retirement he continued to give back to his community by volunteering as a transportation officer for the El Paso Young Marines and was a co-founder of the Wild Hogs. At the age of 17 he bought his first motorcycle, a 1946 Harley, he continued to ride into his late 60’s and eventually retired his Harley, the saddest day of his life. He loved playing Huachas and competed in several Huacha tournaments in El Paso and New Mexico. He enjoyed camping, welding and watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys and spending his time with his friends at the VFW. Survived by his daughter Janet Reade Martinez (Ray), Sons Jesse A Reade (Juana), Albert Reade and Jason Reade. Grandchildren Kristopher L Martinez (Denise) Kreg C Martinez (Denisse) Nathan Z Reade (Lily) Cassandra Quintana. Numerous grandchildren and great grand children of Beverly Reade Williams (Claude). Numerous Nephews, nieces and other relatives. Preceded in death by parents George C and Josefina Reade, Wife Natalia Reade, daughters Teresa Reade, Beverly A Reade Williams.Pallbearers Jesse Reade, Jason Reade, Raymond Martinez, Joe Valverde,Kreg Martinez, Nathan Reade Honorary Pallbearers Max Reade, Al Huerta, Ernie Gomez, Kris Martinez Special Heartfelt Thank you to caregivers Gloria Guiterrez, Lilly Martinez, Frances Gonzalez, Southern Homecare Inc., and the VA To Joe Valverde “Bro” whom he loved as his Brother. A visitation for "Pete" Albert will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. A rosary will occur Monday, July 29, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 12:00 PM at St Joseph's Church, 3729 Hueco Ave., El Paso, Tx 79903. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
