Petra M. Galarza, age 91, of El Paso, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Petra was born February 16, 1930 to Virginia Gutierrez and Manuel Marroquin.

Petra is survived by her son Jose M. Galarza; her daughter Virginia Galarza, Lydia Galarza, Minerva Galarza, Julieta Fuentes and Eglantina Marquez.

Petra was preceded in death by her father Manuel Marroquin and her mother Virginia Gutierrez.

A visitation for Petra will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. A memorial service will occur Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. A graveside will occur Friday, October 22, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery East, 12400 East Montana, El Paso, Texas 79938.

I remember when we would visit from Amarillo my tio Julio and tia Petra would take us across the border to the mercado negro … we would go to my tíos favorite place to eat flautas and go see the many souvenirs … always felt very welcomed in their home… thanks for sharing ur mamasita with us… forever Rest in Peace my loving tia Petra
