

Rachel Beth Leon passed away suddenly on Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. Rachel was the beloved daughter of Sharon and Rabbi Stephen Leon, the loving sister of Shoshana and Rebekah and her husband David, and the incredibly devoted aunt of Daniel, Jordyn and Emme.
Rachel was a beautiful soul who touched the lives of many people. She was an outstanding nanny to Ryan and Sophie who loved her deeply.
She loved animals especially her dogs Phoebe and Mitzi. Rachel was an advisor to the youth groups at Congregation B'nai Zion for years and was totally devoted to each and every child under her guidance and called them "her kids." She was named outstanding regional advisor of the year.
Rachel was a substitute teacher in El Paso for many years and was an inspiration to the students who were privileged to be in her classes. Rachel was an officer of Hadassah and Congregation B'nai Zion Sisterhood where her dedication was admired by all. Rachel graduated from Coronado High School and had a Master's Degree in Education from UNLV. Throughout her life, Rachel had many friends, and was respected and loved by all who had the privilege to be touched by her.
Rachel was born on August 29, 1972. She will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 4 at 11am at Congregation B'nai Zion Synagogue 805 Cherry Hill Ln, El Paso, TX 79912, with a Graveside service to follow at B’nai Zion Cemetery.
