ORTIZ Ortiz, Rafael M., 86. Visitation 4-9 pm 03/10/11 at Kaster Maxon & Futrrell 8817 Dyer St., with prayer service at 7:00 pm. Graveside service 03/11/11 1:00 pm at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Rafael M. Ortiz 86, son of Felix and Luz Ortiz, born in Herman, Colorado 07/23/24 and long time resident of El Paso, TX, passed away on February 20, 2011 from cancer. We give all praise and thanks to the Lord for our answered prayers. His son, Ralph Jr. & Virginia at his beside when he peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior. He was married to Albina Aldrovanni (RIP) a World War II bride. They had two sons, Armando R. Ortiz (RIP) survived by his wife Christina Ortiz and sons Armando Jr. and Christopher Ortiz. Surviving son, Ralph Ortiz Jr. and wife Virginia T. Ortiz, son Rafael Ortiz III and daughter Angie Ortiz. He was a great grandfather to Christopher, Nathan, Amber, Cherry, and Fellanie. Surviving siblings Martha Lugo of El Paso, TX and Gilbert Ortiz of Los Angeles, California. He was a proud veteran of World War II serving in Europe. He retired from Safeway after 35 years of service. He was an over the road driver. Our beloved was full of life and was always thoughtful of others. He shared the last 6 years of his life with his companion, Carmen Valenzuela "Carmelita". He enjoyed dancing, gardening and enjoying time with dear friends. He attended Vista Del Sol Baptist Church Services. We will miss his smile. We thank the Lord for giving us a father, father in law, grandfather, brother and a friend. We would like to thank all treating physicians and staff members, and Casa Caseros Hospice for all their care and support. Visitation will be Thursday 03/10/11 from 5-9 with prayer service at 7:00 pm at Kaster Maxon-Futrell at 8817 Dyer St, El Paso, TX. All family and friends are welcomed to meet at Kaster-Maxon & Futrell at 11:00 am for our final viewing and followed by graveside prayer at Ft. Bliss on Friday 03/11/11 at 1:00 pm.
