Surrounded by family our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-great Grandmother, Rafaela Sandoval passed away peacefully on October 14, 2021. She was born December 9, 1928 in Three Rivers, NM to the late Reducindo and Soledad Munoz. Rafaela was a parishioner of Santo Niño de Atocha Catholic Church and was a devout Catholic who loved to cook, bake and sew for her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband; Theodore L. Sandoval, her son-in-law; Raul (Cuate) Sanchez, grandson; Joshua Matthew Rangel, siblings; Alejandro, Lorenzo, Librado, Jose, Ramon, Isabel, Aurelia and Luz. She will forever be loved and remembered by her children and their spouses; Irene Sanchez, Rebecca Sanchez (Armando), Theodore (Ted) Sandoval (Nancy), Barbara Rangel (Gilbert), Ralph Sandoval (Eileen) and Sophia Navarrete (Michael); 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Rafaela is also survived by her sister; Marina Ponce (Bobby) of Alamogordo, NM, sisters-in-law; Jane Muñoz, Nellie Muñoz and Dora Muñoz; several nieces and nephews and lots of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Vigil Service at 6:30 p.m. both at Hillcrest Funeral Home West, 5054 Doniphan Drive, El Paso, Texas 79932. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Santo Niño de Atocha Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79907.
