Ramon “Ray” Fierro, 73, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on March 5, 2025. Born on November 7, 1951, in El Paso, Texas, he was the son of the late Luis and Delfina Fierro. Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a proud Vietnam War veteran.
After serving his country with honor during the Vietnam War, Ray returned home and dedicated his life to supporting fellow veterans. He was an active member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter # 844, offering camaraderie, support, and a sense of community to those who shared his experiences. His commitment to his brothers and sisters in arms was unwavering, and he worked tirelessly to ensure their voices were heard and their needs were met.
Ray’s faith was central to his life. He was a member of San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church. His strong belief in God guided him through challenges and triumphs alike, and his church family was a source of great strength and comfort to him. Whether it was volunteering at community events, offering a helping hand to those in need, or simply providing a listening ear, Ray’s faith was evident in all that he did.
A loving husband to his wife, Sukey, of 33 years, Ray’s devotion to her was unmatched. As a father to Cris (Rachel), Claudia, Cynthia (Darrell), Kathy (Mike), and Gilbert (Samantha), and a proud grandfather to Kenny, Jacob, Wesley, Polly, Zeke, Isaiah, and his grand dogs and cats. Ray’s love for his family was immeasurable. His children and grandchildren were his greatest pride, and he found joy in every moment spent with them.
Ray’s legacy lives on in the lives of all those he touched. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support of his family, friends, and community. His warmth and sense of humor made him a cherished presence wherever he went.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his son, Tony, and his siblings Raul and Leticia, and beloved dog Eli. He is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Ray will be greatly missed but will forever be remembered for his service, faith, and love for his family. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A visitation for Ramon will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936. A funeral mass will occur Friday, March 14, 2025 at 11:30 AM at San Antonio Catholic Church, 503 Hunter Dr, El Paso, Texas 79915. A graveside service will occur Friday, March 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas 79906.
