Born in El Paso, Texas to Esther D. Anaya and Roberto Anaya, Ruly was the second oldest of four children. His family later settled in New Braunfels, Texas where he graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1965 before earning his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Texas El Paso in Electrical Engineering.
Ruly dedicated more than 30 years of service at White Sands Missile Range, Boeing and Fort Bliss, where he built a respected civil servant career marked by hard work, commitment, and distinguished honors. He was admired by colleagues and friends alike for his dedication and steady presence. Outside of work, he spent time with friends, family and enjoyed supporting his favorite football teams.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Esther and Roberto Anaya.
Ruly is survived by his siblings, Robert Anaya, Rebecca Herrera and Daniel Anaya. He is also survived by his niece Ann Marie Dungan (Sean). He was a loving great uncle to his two grand nephews, Jack Robert and Grant Michael and godfather to Michael Headley.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. with a Rosary starting at 6 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, 128 N. Resler Dr, El Paso, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 400 W. Sunset Road, El Paso, Texas. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4301 Alameda Ave, El Paso, Texas. Luncheon will follow at The Riviera on Doniphan, 5218 Doniphan Drive, El Paso, Texas at 2:45 p.m.
