Raquel B Ortega

Age 94, went to her heavenly home on Sunday March 5th,2023. She was surrounded by her children and family as she transitioned peacefully.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Ortega, her son, Ralph Benegas Sr. and daughter Margie Nemeth. She is survived by her daughters Vicky Jeffreys, Betty Ontiveros (Tino), Ida Sanchez (Juste) and Gloria Lerma (Raul). She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

She was known by many for having a compassionate and loving heart. She helped those in need and was a momma to those who didn't have one or just needed someone to listen to. She had many passions, was a devout Catholic, loved gardening,sewing,animals, reading the daily paper and was a phenomenal cook. Her family will always remember the hard worker she was, the love she gave and the strength to overcome any obstacles in life.

Raquel was the matriarch of the Ortega Family who lived a long and fruitful life, leaving generations to follow her legacy.

A visitation for Raquel will be held Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A rosary will occur Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 6:00 PM, 1060 N. Carolina Ave., El Paso, TX 79915. A funeral mass will occur Friday, March 17, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 7424 Mimosa Ave, El Paso, TX 79915. A graveside service will occur Friday, March 17, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Pao, TX 79906.
