Raymundo Parra

Raymundo “Mundo” Parra, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was welcomed into heaven on Saturday evening, March 8, 2025. He spent his entire life in El Paso and was a proud graduate of Jefferson High School, affectionately known as “La Jeff”. He was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church, and he also served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Mundo was a passionate football fan, but his true allegiance was to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He lived a joyful and vibrant life, always the life of the party. He loved dancing, playing “Huachas”, and enjoyed canasta with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizario “Challo” Parra and Consuelo “Chelo” Parra, as well as his sister, Elena “Nena” Melendez, and brothers, Carlos “Chale” Parra and Jose “Joe” Parra, as well as his daughter, Clarisa Parra. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Juana “Jenny” Parra, along with his daughter, Veronica de Santiago, and her husband, Daniel de Santiago; sons Raymundo Parra Jr. and Xavier Parra. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, Clarissa Nicole de Santiago, Patience Emory Zambrano, Daniel de Santiago II with his wife, Ruby de Santiago, Hope Natalie Parra, Andres Elizario de Santiago, and Ezekiel Alexander de Santiago, in addition, his cherished 2 great-grandchildren Rome Angel Zambrano and Daniel de Santiago III, along with numerous nieces, nephews, God-children and lifelong friends.

A visitation for Raymundo will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. A rosary will occur Monday, March 24, 2025 at 7:00 PM, 1060 North Carolina Dr., El Paso, Texas 79915. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 8600 Winchester Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
