Reuben Chavez, 60, born on November 14, 1964 in El Paso, TX, was sent to his eternal home on February 11, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Avelardo E. Chavez and Lucy A. Ortega. Also preceded in death by his sisters, Laura and Rita, as well as his nephew, Christopher Daniel Chavez, and his brother-in-law, Herbert P. Beard, as well as his grandparents on both sides. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends. For the past 5 years, Reuben was his mother’s caregiver, until her passing last year. Reuben had a passion for watching football and an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved to watch crime shows. His journey on earth was one marked by love, compassion and unwavering faith in God. We ask that you remember him for the profound positive impact he made on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Reuben is survived by his brothers, Junie Chavez (wife Susie Chavez), Danny Chavez (wife Jennifer Holguin) and his sister, Arleen Beard. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Erica Beard, Steven Chavez, Michael Chavez, Samantha Chavez, Josuah Chavez, Brittney Chavez and Aubrey Chavez-Tripp. He is also survived by cousins which he loved dearly.
His memorial will take place on February 25th at Restlawn Funeral Home from 6 pm to 8 pm.
