With faith in the resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, it is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of ✝Rev. Miguel Meneses, Born April 28, 1933 who was a faithful priest of the Diocese of El Paso, who entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
✝Fr. Meneses was ordained into the Orden Franciscana Provincia del Santo Evangelio de México on July 30, 1961. His journey of faith and ministry in El Paso began in 1972, and was later incardinated into the Diocese of El Paso in 1979. He went on to dedicate 35 years of selfless service to the diocese. ✝Fr. Meneses retired from active service in 2007, but his impact and devotion to the community continued to resonate throughout the region.
✝Fr. Meneses served in various parishes across El Paso and West Texas, touching the lives of countless parishioners with his gentle spirit, pastoral care, and unwavering commitment to the Gospel.
He is remembered for his deep faith, compassionate nature, and devotion to those in need, as well as his dedication to the teachings of Christ. ✝Fr. Meneses' life was a true reflection of his commitment to the Church, and he leaves behind a legacy of profound influence on all those who knew him.
✝Fr. Meneses, was preceded in death by his mother, ✝Antonia Lima Ramirez de Tlachi, and his father, ✝Francisco Tlachi Meneses. He is also preceded by his siblings, including ✝Maria Inés Tlachi Lima, ✝Emelia Tlachi Lima, ✝Joel Tlachi Lima, ✝Margarito Tlachi Lima, ✝Carmen Tlachi Lima, and ✝Amabilia Meneses Olazcan. ✝Fr. Meneses is survived by his brothers, Luciano Tlachi Lima, Javier David Tlachi Lima, José Tlachi Lima, Juan Tlachi Lima, and Severino Tlachi Lima.
Visitation for ✝Fr. Meneses will be Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Vigil Service and Rosary at 5:00 PM at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 4800 Byron St, El Paso, Texas 79930. Rite of Committal will follow Monday, March 17, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Mt Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he, through the mercy of Christ, rest in peace. Amen
