

Reynaldo Enriquez Sr., 86, was called home to his eternal paradise Sunday, August 25, 2024, in El Paso, Texas. He was born in Clint, Texas, and a proud graduate of Bowie High School. Reynaldo dedicated his life to his family, his church, work, and community, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960, instilling in him a deep sense of discipline and loyalty. Following his military service, he embarked on a career with Orkin Exterminating Service before dedicating 30 years as a Tank House Foreman at Phelps Dodge Copper Refinery.
A devout and founding member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Reynaldo was deeply involved in his faith community. He was a Eucharistic Minister and, together with Alma, served a two-year term as National Presidents of the Movimiento Familiar Cristiano for which they received a personal Blessing from His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. Reynaldo also notably served as head of the Finance Committee and managed the money booth, along with Alma, at the annual La Feria Del Valle, an end-of-summer bazaar, for many years. His commitment to Cristo Rey was a testament to his faith and his love for his community.
Reynaldo’s passions included watching sports, playing golf, working on his cherished 1937 Chevy Coupe, enjoyed watching WWE, and sharing many laughs and moments of joy with those around him. He was also fondly known for his humor, his punctuality, and his unwavering commitment to his family and work.
Reynaldo was preceded in peace by his beloved wife, Alma R. Enriquez, his grandson Aaron R. Ordonez, and his parents Jose and Juanita Montoya. He is survived by his loving children Reynaldo Enriquez Jr. (Leticia), Alma E. Libby (Mark), Salvador Edward Enriquez, Joseph Andrew Sr. (Sandra), Anna Marie Ordonez (Rene), Lorraine Aguilar (Jose), along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brother Eduardo Montoya.
The community will honor his life Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a Vigil and Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Holy Mass will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, at 9:30 am, Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Williamette Avenue followed by the burial at Mount Carmel Cemetary.
Reynaldo’s legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
