Mr Backer will forever live in my memories. I am so grateful for his fatherly love and his integrity. I was blessed in life to have known him. Growing up with Christopher and sharing in their lives. My prayers go out to his lovely wife Kay.

Tim Backer way a wonderfull man to work  for we will miss him dearley


What a wonderful man of God he was.  A precious husband to you and father to Christopher.  Christopher could not have had better parents.  You both were and still are role models of the Faith to me.  All of my happy memories of my childhood include you and Tim.  Attending Westside Church of Christ with you and all the others, eating Sunday night dinners at the Desert Inn motel or Desert Hills (am I remembering the name right?), coming over to your house and just laughing and laughing with you at all of your funny escapades.  Admiring your beautiful Indian Jewelry, your beautiful antiques and your long brown hair!!!  I remember your sweet white German shepherd dog  I can't spell her name  but what a great dog!  

Memories are a wonderful thing, and I'm grateful for every single one that included you and Tim.  I always thought of you as my other parents  or at least the more lenient ones  who would never have been as strict as my own.  Or maybe my favorite Aunt and Uncle.  All I know is, you both felt like family to me!!!  

I'm also so very thankful that Sara and I took that trip to El Paso, years ago, to see you and Tim.  What a blessing you have been to us.  Remember when Sara set the timer on the camera and then ran back to us to get seated on the wall outside and tripped over her feet and went sprawling and the camera caught that shot!  We laughed and laughed!!!!!  To this day, Sara and I will recollect so many things about what we loved about visiting with you and Tim! We wouldn't trade our time with you for all the money in the world.  

I truly can't imagine growing up without you and Tim in my life and not living closer to you in my adult years has been so sad!  I would have so enjoyed visiting with you more in my adult years.  I want to say that you have left such an imprint on my life and I have many of your characteristics  a little sassy, turning hard or sad circumstances and situations into something positive or even humorous!  I always thought you should have been a comedian.  I would love to jump in the car right now and pick you up and go to the Char-coaler for a Dr. Pepper and a chili burger!!!!

I know you were a huge blessing to Tim all through out your marriage  and especially in these hard last years.  Dementia is such a cruel disease, and yet I'm sure you found humor in some of the hardest days.  I'm thankful that you modeled and upheld your marriage vows, thru sickness and in health, in the good times and bad.  Thank you that divorce was never an option! Truly, what a role model you both were to all of us.   Thank you for taking such good care of him to the point where I'm sure it was taking a great toll on your own health.  

Kay, you'll just never completely know how much I love you and Tim.  Thank you so much for loving him, Christopher, the Lord and us!  Please know that if you need anything at all, I'm only a phone call away.  I'd still absolutely LOVE for you to move to Lubbock!!!! I'd gladly come and help you pack up!!!  Or, just give the word and I'll come see you just to visit, laugh and hug.  Thank you for being you!!!

The great cloud of witnesses continues to grow with all of our loved ones who go there before we do.  It makes me long for heaven all the more!

My deepest condolences.  He was the best landlord I ever had. I loved his mother (Bertha) as if she were my own. The Backers made me feel as if I were family.  God speed.

Tim will be greatly missed.  We loved him even though we did not get to see him very often. We pray that the Lord will comfort you and give you peace.  We love you and are praying for you.
