Richard "Dick" August Farner, 79, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of July 4th, 2022, where he loved and most wanted to be, at home with the Love of his life. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Irene and Edward Pruchnicki.
He was born in Pontiac, Michigan in the Spring of 1943. He enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1963 and served until 1967. During this time of service, he had the distinct honor of working in the Judge Advocate's office and received letters of commendation for his work.
Through a mutual love of roller skating, he met his Forever Sweetheart, Miss Betty Jean Autrey. They were married in April of 1963. Their first daughter, Cheryl, was born in 1966 and their second daughter, Lisa, completed their family in 1972.
Dick graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he was a proud member of an organization for Ex-Gl's. He taught numerous rising stars in both the El Paso Independent School District and the San Elizario Independent School District.
Dick was a member of the Wallace Hughston Masonic Lodge and became a "Master Mason". He was "King of the Road" in his treasured motor home, as they traveled the countryside. Retirement brought new adventures, cherished friendships and many dear memories.
He is survived by his true love, Jeanie, daughters Cheryl (Tony) and Lisa (Bobby), Grandchildren Brandon (Rachel), Ryan (Michelle), Amber (Javier), Taylor (Marisela), Casey, Rebecca and Robby. Great Grandchildren include Brayden, Katelyn, Allison, Austin, Jac, Emily, MacKenzie, Logan, Jace, Amelia and (soon to be) "Baby Miles". He is also survived by his sister, Audrey Neeley and family.
Dick was an amazing treasure to all who were privileged to know him.
He will forever be in our Hearts...
