Rigoberto was born on December 20, 1961, in El Paso, Texas, to Rigoberto and Rosa Maria Villalobos. After attending Gadsden High School, he went on to study at New Mexico State University graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering. He held several positions with the federal government and then went on to work in the private sector.
His family and friends will remember him for his love of horses and his dedication to the thoroughbred racing community. All who met Rigoberto will not forget his infectious passion and pride in his life work with Villalobos Racing.
Rigoberto is survived by his wife, Mary Grace Villalobos; son, Miguel Angel Villalobos (Jen); daughter, Brianna Paula Villalobos; bonus daughter, Augusta Shepard; mother, Rosa Maria Villalobos; three brothers, Guillermo Villalobos (Gloria), Miguel Angel Villalobos (Lourdes), and Ramon Villalobos (Claudia); one sister, Paula Villalobos (Ray); as well as many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his father Rigoberto Villalobos Sr. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with and loved.

Graveside Service will be held on April 12, 2023, at 1:30 pm at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas.
