April 18, 1957 – August 22, 2025
Robert H. Medina, lovingly known as “Tiger,” passed away on August 22, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on April 18, 1957, Robert grew up in Canutillo, Texas, where he graduated from Canutillo High School. He later made his home in Anthony, New Mexico, with his beloved wife of 36 years, Valerie Medina.
A proud veteran, Robert honorably served in the United States Navy from 1976 to 1982 as an E-5 Gunners Mate. His years in the service shaped his sense of discipline, integrity, and commitment—qualities he carried throughout his life.
Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He and Valerie built a beautiful life together, raising two children, Ashley Vazquez and Michael Medina. He was especially proud to be “Grandpa Boom Boom” to his grandchildren, Austin and Mila, who brought him endless joy.
Sports were one of Robert’s lifelong passions. He loved baseball, playing softball on Sundays with his brother Adrian and close friends, and coaching countless teams—from T-ball to middle school—always guiding young players with patience and heart. His love for the game reflected his love for people: he was welcoming, wise, honest, and always willing to lend advice or a helping hand.
Robert worked tirelessly throughout his life, including a career with NASA, before running two successful businesses alongside Valerie. After retiring, he embraced every moment—traveling, golfing at the Anthony Country Club, caring for his horses on the farm, and spending time at the racetrack and casino. His happiest times were with family and friends, whether he was playing a round of golf with Michael, dancing with Valerie, or simply enjoying the company of those he loved.
He is survived by his wife Valerie; children Ashley Vazquez and Michael Medina; grandchildren Austin and Mila; his brother Adrian; and sisters Ronnie and Leticia. He is reunited in heaven with his parents, Juliana and Eduardo Medina, and his sister Anita.
Robert will be remembered for his big heart, his honesty, and his ability to make everyone feel like family. His legacy lives on through the love he shared and the many lives he touched.
