

July 3, 1928 - January 22, 2015
Beloved son, brother, uncle and husband won his coveted passage into the arms, of our Lord on January 22, 2015, at age 86. Awaiting him in Glory were his parents Isabel (Lopez) and Ramon Gonzalez, Sr., his brothers Ricardo (Maria), Ramon, Jr (Alma), Roberto (Rebecca) and his sisters Margarita (Solis) and Carolina, in addition his beloved wife Margarita "Margie" (Salgado). Rofo was born and raised in El Paso, TX. As a young boy his favorite treat was empanadas de pina from Bowie Bakery. He was a talented basketball player. He was called up to serve our country with the United Sates Army. After fulfilling his service, Rofo returned to El Paso briefly before moving to Los Angeles, California. He later met his wife Margie while visiting Arleta, California. Upon retirement from the US Railroad, he and Margie returned to El Paso. They both were led by their devout faith as members of Jesus and Mary Roman Catholic Church. Rofo was proud of his extensive record collection and many cats who shared his home throughout his lifetime. The family would like to thank Joaquin Ramirez, Sr. for his patience and compassion in assisting Rofo with his basic needs after Margie's passing. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends that will miss Tio Rofo.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with Rosary at 7:00 PM at Crestview Funeral Home East, 1462 N. Zaragoza Road. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 11:30 AM at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 408 Park Street. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Crestview Funeral Home East.
