Roland "Ron" Jack McCarthy

Roland J. "Ron" McCarthy, 67, of El Paso, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2025. A man of quiet strength and generous spirit, Ron was deeply loved as a son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

Ron's warmth and easygoing nature made him a constant source of comfort and joy for those around him. He had a deep affection for his dogs and a special fondness for hummingbirds, often finding peace in their presence. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Ron never missed a chance to cheer on college and professional teams or Emma's volleyball games, and he remained a proud Ysleta High School Indian, Class of 1977.

He was the kind of person who always showed up—whether it was for family, friends, or anyone in need. His humility, kindness, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ronnie will be remembered always for his unwavering love, his gentle heart, and the quiet strength that defined his life.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Esther; his beloved daughter, Emily; and his cherished granddaughter, Emma. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Ellen Lindemann; nieces Vanessa, Melissa, and Jessica; nephew Sebastian; mother-in-law Sofia Ordonez; sisters-in-law Rebecca Meza (John) and Leticia Augsberger (Rich); brother-in-law Vicente Ordonez; nephew John Andrew (Mallory); and nieces Andrea, Isabella, Aly, and Will.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Ronald E. McCarthy; his sister Maggie Hunter; brother-in-law Robert Hunter; and nephew Daniel Holmes.

A memorial service to honor Ron's life will be held on October 27, 2025, at 10:00 am with a prayer service at 10:30 am at Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX, 79915, United States.
