Romi  as we always called her was truly one of the loviest friend and coworker.  She was always upbeat and willing to help any of us at any time.  I had the pleasure of working with her both in the special education department in the Ysleta Independent School District and again in the Early Intervention Center for children birth to three years old with disabilities. I was so lucky to have had Romi as my "Next Door Mom".  I have so many wonderful memories of hours and hours spent in her home as a child. She always made me feel like one of her own. The love in her heart for her family and her friends was always evident. This loss has deeply saddened me. You are all in my thoughts and prayers and my heartfelt sympathy goes out to the entire family.

My condolences, thoughts, and prayers are with your family.  Romi and I worked together at the Paso del Norte Children's Development Center for many years.  She was fun, had a great sense of humor and was very kind and always compassionate. She was trustworthy, loyal, and so much fun to work with.  We shared stories about our families, recipes, pictures, and played endless practical jokes on each other.  We became more than just co-workers over the years and were great friends even after she retired from the center. Romi always went the extra mile for a family and spent that extra few minutes talking to a parent that needed reassurance. May we all remember that in our busy days it is important to stop and smell the roses and enjoy those in our lives as she did.  She talked about her family all the time and adored her husband, children, and grandchildren.  She was a very special woman in different ways to all of us.  She will always be remembered and I will continue to pray for all of you.  God bless your beautiful family.

I will always remember my wonderful cousin Romi, during all those years that we grew up together and shared many, many beautiful and lasting memories.  Those memories will last me a lifetime.  Life took us on different paths, but we remained in touch.  Romi, I will miss you.  You left too soon. 

My beloved sister Romi was my world. She was my role model. God gave me a best friend that always had encouraging words that got me through the day. 
Heaven received an amazing angel to look after all of us here on earth.

I am very fortunate to have known such an amazing woman, mother and friend.  To be considered a part of your family has and is a true honor and privilege.  You inspired kindness, integrity and faith in those around you.  Encouraged your children to be the best they could be, even if it meant for them to live far away.  You raised an incredible daughter and she has given me three tremendous gifts (Joseph, Remy and Isaac). Selena is the woman she is today because of your spirit and your spirit will continue to live through her and your two sons.
You know there’s a saying that every husband/wife sometimes gets annoyed by his/her mother in law.  But what I wouldn’t give to hug you one more time.  Vaya con Dios!   


Romi and I shared part of the front row for years in aerobics and zumba.  She and I would walk around the gym before class and talk.  Romi was a wonderful listener and sharer.  I will miss her and picture her standing in her place enthusiastically participating in the class.  May she rest in peace  and may light perpetual shine upon her.  God has indeed received a new angel.
