With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life and legacy of Romelia Velez, 90, who peacefully entered eternal rest on July 22, 2025. Romelia was born February 28, 1935, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Melquiades and Vicenta Romero-Bermudez.
Romelia devoted 66 beautiful years of her life in marriage to her beloved husband, Concepcion Velez. Their marriage was a living testimony of love, faith, and commitment. Side by side, they served in ministry, sharing the Gospel not only through word, but through song. Together, they would sing and minister to others, using their voices to uplift hearts and glorify God.
A faithful woman of prayer, Romelia was known for praying with and for others. She led prayer services at her church with boldness and conviction, always standing firm in her faith as she interceded for others. She was a dedicated housewife and mother whose heart was always centered on her home and family. Romelia was the proud and loving mother of four sons, whom she raised with steadfast love, guidance, and prayer. Though she was strict, her love ran deep. She set high expectations, taught respect and responsibility, and balanced discipline with laughter and joy. She loved to cook, and her kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort. Whether it was freshly made tortillas, beans, or buñuelos, she poured love into every dish. She also had a special way of teasing and joking with her boys,
Romelia leaves behind a lasting legacy not just through her words or deeds, but through the generations she poured into with her time, love, and prayers. She was a godly woman of prayer, a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud grandmother of many. Her strength, grace, and unwavering faith will continue to guide and inspire all who knew and loved her.
